The Story Behind The Colour Gift Co
Hi! I’m the creator of The Colour Gift Co — and this little business was inspired by my daughter, who absolutely loves painting and creating. From the moment she first picked up a paintbrush, she’s been obsessed with colours, characters, and decorating anything she can get her hands on!
Like any parent, I wanted to support her creativity. I found myself constantly buying the paint-your-own craft kits you find in shops, but over time, I realised two things:
- She wanted more choice — plaster moulds that matched her interests right now.
- I wanted something more personal — a fun activity she could proudly display in her room, especially something with her name on it.
That’s when the idea for personalised name and themed paint kits was born. I started creating custom plaster moulds for her — if she wanted a butterfly, I made a butterfly… if she wanted her initial decorated in sparkles, we did that too! Seeing her joy and pride made me think:
“If she loves this so much… other children will too!”
A Business That Fits Family Life
Another huge part of why I started this business is family. I want to be around for all the special moments — the school plays, the assemblies, the “Mum, watch me!” moments we can never get back.
